Japan Airlines (JAL) receives the first Boeing 787 on 25 in March

Update 27 March 2012: Japan Airlines (JAL) received 2 Boeing 787, JA825J and JA822J aircraft. The ceremony took place at the Boeing plant in Everett Seattle (USA). It was the first double delivery on a Sunday. The event was attended by officials from Boeing, Japan Airlines and General Electric (GenX engine suppliers).

The airline, Japan Airlines, has announced it is ready to receive the first Boeing NEVER Dreamliner, on 25 March. The surrender ceremony will take place on Sunday, and on March 11, the aircraft will take off from Seattle, Paine Field, to Tokyo Narita.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will start work on 22 April on the race Tokyo Narita - Boston. JAL announced that it will also introduce the plane on the Tokyo Narita - San Diego route, later in 2012.

The carrier, which has firm orders for 25 aircraft 787-8 and 20 aircraft 787-9, intends to launch new flights from Tokyo Narita to Beijing, Moscow, New Delhi and Singapore, as it will receive aircraft.

JAL will become the second airline to receive Boeing 787 Dreamliner, after ANA (All Nippon Airways), but the aircraft comes with a premiere: it will be the first to be equipped with General Electric GenX engines. The Boeing 787-8 aircraft, which will be delivered on March 25, will come with a configuration in 2 classes: Business - 44 seats (distributed in 2-2-2 format); Economy - 144 seats (distributed in 2-4-2 format).
