On the 102nd anniversary of its founding, KLM unveiled the 102 miniature house: the Tuschinsky Theater in Amsterdam! It happened on October 7, during an anniversary event that took place in Amsterdam. I was present at this event, the only profile journalist in Romania, thanks to Travel Communication Romania.

Every year, on October 7, KLM unveils a new miniature house to mark the anniversary. This year's house is a miniature Delftware of the Tuschinski Theater in Amsterdam. KLM is one of the oldest airlines in the world, which has been flying under the same name since its inception.

This new house was presented just three weeks before the Tuschinsky Theater celebrated its centenary. It was opened on October 28, 1921, under the leadership of the Pole Abraham Icek Tuschinski. With Hermann Ehrlich and Hermann Gerschtanowitz, Tuschinksi built a cinematic empire in Rotterdam until a piece of land near the Amsterdam Mountain caught his eye.

When it opened, the newspaper Het Vaderland a written: "Tuschinsky's monumental façade, with its fine lines and beautiful stone, contradicts the interaction of light triumphing inside”. This combination of styles resonates throughout the building in colorful murals and the ambient glow of its ornamental lamps.

The current owner of the cinema, Pathé, has carried out extensive restoration work on the building, re-establishing its unique atmosphere. Earlier this year, Tuschinski was proclaimed the most beautiful cinema in the world by the British magazine Time-out.

Returning to the Delftware miniature houses, their story began in 1950, when KLM introduced the first house. They contain gin Bever Jenever and are distributed to World Business Class passengers on intercontinental flights. The houses are replicas of special buildings in the Netherlands and are highly sought after as collectibles. Since 1994, the house number matches the age of KLM, with a new miniature being added to the collection each year around KLM's 7th anniversary.

During the short visit to Amsterdam, we also had a tour of the city, looking for special buildings that have a replica in the KLM collection of miniature houses, but about all this in another article.
