On May 4, KLM began to gradually resume flights to destinations in Europe. As I announced to you, KLM resumed its activity on the Amsterdam - Milan Malpensa route, following the resumption of flights to 7 other destinations in the following days, which had their flights suspended or restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting May 11, wearing masks will be mandatory on all KLM flights.

The heavily reduced European network is configured to connect with as many flights as possible on the intercontinental network. Routes will be reopened gradually, but may change weekly depending on the measures taken by the authorities at the destination.

KLM is gradually resuming flights to Europe

Starting May 4, 2020, KLM will resume daily service to the following destinations: Barcelona; Madrid; Rome; Milan; Budapest; Prague; Warsaw; Helsinki.

The flights will be operated with KLM Cityhopper Embraer aircraft, which can carry between 88 and 130 passengers. More information can be found on klm.com or the KLM application.

KLM's goal for May is to resume 15% of its flights, compared to the pre-Covid-19 period. A considerable number of intercontinental flights are currently operated only in cargo mode.

According to the reservation system, KLM will resume flights Amsterdam - Bucharest starting June 17, 2020. For the beginning, 1 daily flight will be operated, and from July 4, it will be switched to 3 daily flights.

Returning to the measures taken by KLM to combat the spread of COVID-19 virus, we inform you that the mask becomes mandatory. Starting May 11 and simultaneously with the resumption of flights, masks will be mandatory on board and during boarding.. Passengers are responsible for providing their own face masks.

Given the nature of the change in regulations and legislation, pending further notification, these masks will remain mandatory until 31 August 2020.
