Korean Air will introduce the second Airbus A380 daily to New York

From May 25, 2014, the two daily flights operated by Korean Air, on the route Seoul - New York, will be honored with Airbus A380 aircraft. Currently, the first flight of the day is operated by superjumbo, which takes off at 10:05 from Seoul and lands in the United States at 11:20. The return flight is scheduled to take off from New York at 14:00 and land in South Korea at 17:20 the next day.

The second A380 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER and take off from Seoul to 19: 40 (landing in New York will be scheduled for 20: 40). The return is scheduled to depart from the United States at 00: 50.

On this route, Korean Air is in direct competition with private rival Asiana Airlines. Also flying from the United States to Seoul are American Airlines (Dallas), Delta Air Lines (Detroit, Seattle since June) and United Airlines (San Francisco, Chicago - until March 28 via Tokyo).

Currently, Korean Air operates a fleet of 8 Airbus A380 aircraft, of the 10 ordered, the last two to be received this year. The aircraft are configured to accommodate 407 passengers in 3 classes: 12 at First Class, 94 at Business Class (across the upper deck) and 301 passengers at Economy Class. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft is configured in 3 classes and can carry up to 291 passengers.
