A few days after the first flight of a CSeries plane, Rusdi Kirana, founder and CEO Lion Air, visited the Bombardier base in Canada. He said he had found aircraft "beyond expectations" and was considering placing a major order for the CS300 (the largest model with a capacity of up to 160 passengers).

Lion Air CEO also stated that it is a big leap forward for Bombardier and stressed the benefits of new CSeries aircraft, including being able to land on short runways. The order could be formally placed on the 2014 Farnborough Airshow Aviation Show. He did not disclose the number of units desired, but said that Lion Air would be the largest customer at that time.

Lion Air is recognized on the civil aviation market for the huge orders placed on Airbus and Boeing, but also for some major incidents recorded in recent years. On 14 February 2012, Lion Air placed the largest order in Boeing's history. One year later, Lion Air has ordered over $ 20 billion worth of Airbus aircraft.

Bombardier hopes to deliver the first aircraft CSeries in 2014, but many voices in the market say this will not happen, with 2015 being a more realistic target. To date, CSeries has tightened firm orders for 177 of optional 211 units. I expect Lion Air to order over 150 aircraft CS300, but we see in 2014!
