LOT Polish Airlines has inaugurated the Ostrava - Prague route in the Czech Republic
On 11 November 2020, LOT Polish Airlines inaugurated the Prague - Ostrava route in the Czech Republic. Up to 5 flights a week will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The Prague - Ostrava connection is provided in a combination with Warsaw - Ostrava flights. In other words, the LOT aircraft flies Warsaw - Ostrava - Prague - Ostrava - Warsaw.
Inaugural flight LO1527, on the Ostrava - Prague connection, was operated with the Bombardier DHC-8-400 aircraft (SP-EQK). It took off at 09:41 from Ostrava and landed in Prague around 10:20. The return flight LO1528, on the connection Prague - Ostrava, took off at 11:01 from Prague and landed at Ostrava around 11:40.
Linked to the history of the Ostrava - Prague route, it has been honored for 83 years. However, in January 2020, Czech Airlines decided to stop flights on this connection due to a lack of aircraft. But there is always another airline, eager to honor the routes left free by others.
