Lufthansa launches Frankfurt (FRA) - Washington DC route with Boeing 747-8i

Lufthansa introduced the aircraft Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental on the route Frankfurt (FRA) - Washington DC, from 1 June 2012. Flight LH416 departed Frankfurt at 9: 50 and landed at Washington, DC's Dulles International Airport (IAD) at 12: 45 pm. On board the aircraft were Dr. Christoph Franz, Lufthansa CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board, and Elizabeth Lund, Boeing Vice President and General Manager of 747 Program.

Return flight, LH419, departed from Washington, DC, the same day at 05: 55pm and arrived in Frankfurt at 8: 05am the following day. Lufthansa will perform 6 weekly flights (except Tuesday) on the Frankfurt (FRA) - Washington DC route and will increase capacity on this route by 6.3%.
