Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines are adjusting the flight schedule in Romania.

The start of 2022 comes with tens of thousands of flights canceled by several airlines. Wizz Air has announced the suspension of 100 routes at European level, while RYANAIR has announced the suspension of some routes in Romania. But the most affected airlines are the Lufthansa Group.

According to Lufthansa CEO, Lufthansa Group will cancel approximately 33 flights worldwide. Routes from / to Romania will also be affected.

Austrian Airlines suspends flights on the route Iasi - Vienna starting with January 8, 2022. The last flight scheduled on this route will be honored on January 7: Sibiu 15:55 - 16:15 Vienna (OS786). At the same time, Austrian Airlines will reduce the number of flights on the route Iasi - Vienna from 4 to 2 weekly rotations.

Lufhansa will reduce the frequencies on the routes Bucharest - Munich; Bucharest - Frankfurt; Timisoara - Munich; Cluj - Frankfurt and Cluj - Munich, but also Sibiu - Munich. At the same time, the Iasi-Frankfurt route will remain without the flights operated by Lufthansa, from January 11, 2022.

The canceled flights and routes are expected to return to the operational program starting with the summer season 2022. Everything is influenced by the evolution of the pandemic with the new coronavirus.
