In the last two weeks, Lufthansa has registered over 80% more bookings for Mallorca, 20% more bookings for the Canary Islands and 50% more bookings for Mexico. Elimination of travel restrictions to Mallorca by the Federal Government of Germany will further strengthen this trend.

In total, Lufthansa will offer around 1200 European flights from March to April. This means about 200% more connections from Munich and about 50% more from Frankfurt compared to the current week.

Destinations in Spain are especially in demand. This is why the airline is flying to almost all the Canary Islands for the first time since the pandemic. The frequency of flights from Munich to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura will be doubled by Easter. The frequency of flights departing from Frankfurt to Gran Canaria and Tenerife will be increased by 50%.

The airline is responding to increased demand by doubling the number of flights.

Immediately following the decision of the German Disease Control Center to remove Palma de Mallorca and other areas of Spain and Portugal from the list of risk areas, Lufthansa registered an unprecedented number of reservations. Thus, Lufthansa doubles the number of flights to holiday destinations: there will be 11 weekly flights to Mallorca from Munich (currently there are two flights) and 20 weekly flights from Frankfurt (currently there are six).

In addition, Eurowings added an additional 300 flights for the Easter holidays, in order to be able to satisfy the customers' demand. Lufthansa Group will connect Mallorca with 24 airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the summer season 2021. Eurowings is by far the largest travel provider between Palma de Mallorca and Germany - flights are also known as "Palma Shuttle ”.

For long-haul flights to Cancun (Mexico) and San José (Costa Rica) from Frankfurt, they are in high demand. There are currently daily flights to Cancun, but also five weekly flights to San Jose.

More information can be found at lufthansa.com. Flights are available for booking. Customers must take into account the current entry and quarantine regulations of those destinations when planning their trip. This summer, Lufthansa Group airlines will offer the widest range of holiday destinations in recent years, thus demonstrating the company's knowledge of the leisure travel market.
