Lufthansa is enjoying an increase in bookings during the holidays. In some cases, even 400%!
Lufthansa has seen an increase in bookings for domestic and international flights during the winter, Christmas and New Year holidays. In some cases, the increase was up to 400% towards destinations in Southern Europe and Northern Europe compared to the previous week.
Significant increases were recorded to destinations in South Africa (Cape Town, Johannesburg), Namibia (Windhoek), the Canary Islands, Madeira and sunny destinations in the Mediterranean, but also snowy areas in northern Finland.
Due to high demand, Lufthansa has announced new routes and increased the frequency of flights on existing routes.
From December 19, Lufthansa will have direct flights to the islands of La Palma and Fuerteventura, for the first time, departing from Frankfurt Airport. The airline will also operate flights from Munich and Frankfurt to the Canary Islands.
Lufthansa will also resume flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Seville and Palermo. Another route announced by Lufthansa will be Heraklion (island of Crete) - Frankfurt.
In addition to the classic sunny destinations, ski resorts in northern Finland are once again in high demand in the Lufthansa flight schedule. Thus, from Frankfurt it will be possible to fly to Ivalo and Kuusamo, and from Munich there will be direct flights to Kittilä.
The frequency of flights departing from Frankfurt Airport to Mallorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Madeira, Malta, Larnaca and Faro has been increased. The same thing happened with flights taking off from Munich airport to Mallorca, Faro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
In addition, other routes will be reintroduced into the flight schedule. From Frankfurt there will be flights to Dublin, Gdansk, Salzburg, Turin and Naples. From Munich you can travel to Paris, Madrid, Helsinki, Athens, Rome, Oslo, Warsaw and Lisbon.
