Lufthansa Group allows the integration of Covid-19 test certificates in the digital system.
Lufthansa customers have the option to send Covid-19 test certificates and digital application confirmations to a specially created Lufthansa Group healthcare center. This will be done through a contact form - 72 hours before departure.
Lufthansa customers traveling from Frankfurt to Istanbul (Turkey) and from Newark (USA) to Frankfurt and Munich will benefit from this option on February 25. SWISS customers will be able to use this service on the route Newark (USA) - Zurich (Switzerland) starting in March.
Passengers traveling on these flights will receive prior notice and a link to a portal where relevant contact details and certificates can be stored. At the medical center, the documents are checked.
The customer receives confirmation or feedback by e-mail.
After verification, the customer receives confirmation by e-mail, if the certificates meet the requirements of entry into the destination country or feedback if the documents are not sufficient. Regardless of this, the passenger must also have the original certificates with him during the trip.
This gives Lufthansa and SWISS customers even more security in planning. Check-in and boarding are also even faster and easier. With this new service, the Lufthansa Group is taking an important step towards integrating the results of the Covid-19 test into the digital travel chain, facilitating travel during pandemics.
Depending on the results of this digital program, it is planned to allow test certificates to be sent for all flights. Digital health passports will also be integrated.
