Lufthansa Group and Etihad Group have expanded their cooperation
Catering services worth 100 million!
At a press conference in Abu Dhabi today, Lufthansa Group and Etihad Group presented the details of a new business partnership.
The 2 aviation groups have concluded one Global agreement for catering worth 100 millions of dollars and a memorandum of cooperation for aircraft maintenance (repairs and overhauls). The memorandum was concluded between Etihad Airways and Lufthansa Technology.

The catering contract was concluded for four years with LSG Sky Chefs (Lufthansa) and includes the provision of catering services to Etihad Airways in 16 cities in Europe, Asia and America. Thus, LSG Sky Chefs becomes Etihad Airways' largest provider of catering services outside its base in Abu Dhabi.

At the same time, from 1 to February 2017, it applies codeshare agreement on flights between Frankfurt, Munich and Abu Dhabi and extension with sales on flights to Rio de Janeiro and Bogota. More specifically, code "LH" (Lufthansa) can be used on Etihad Airways flights between Frankfurt, Munich and Abu Dhabi. Code "EY" (Etihad Airways) will be used on Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt to Rio de Janeiro and Bogota.
Also based on this business partnership, Etihad Airways operations will move to Lufthansa terminals at Frankfurt and Munich airports.
On 16 December 2016, Lufthansa Group has signed an agreement with Airberlin, part of the Etihad Group, to take over 38 with all-crew aircraft. Eurowings, part of Lufthansa Group, will take over 33 aircraft, and Austrian Airlines, part of Lufthansa Group, will take over 5 aircraft. The agreement signed between Lufthansa and Airberlin, signed at 16 December 2016, will last 6 years and is scheduled to begin at 10 February 2017.
