From October 25 2015, with the start of the winter season 2015-2016 in aviation, Lufthansa makes some changes in the operating system. It introduced Airbus A380 aircraft to Hong Kong and Boeing 747-8i aircraft to Johannesburg.
Lufthansa operates a daily flight between Frankurt and Hong Kong with super jumbo configured in 4 classes and can carry up to 509 passengers: 8 seats in First Class, 78 seats in Business Class, 52 seats in Premium Economy and 371 seats in Economy Class. Initially, these flights were honored with Boeing 747-8i aircraft from 364 seats, resulting in an approximately 25% increase in transport capacity.

The Boeing 747-8i aircraft were relocated on the Frankfurt - Johannesburg-OR Tambo route, a first for this type of aircraft in Africa. 747-8i Lufthansa is configured in 4 classes and can carry up to 364 passengers: 8 seats in First Class, 80 seats in Business Class, 32 seats in Premium Economy and 244 in Economy Class.
