Lufthansa, the largest German operator, introduced the aircraft Airbus A380 on the route Frankfurt-Houston (Bush Intercontinental), from the 1 August. Houston becomes the fourth US destination that Lufthansa operates with A380.
Flight LH440 landed on American soil at 13: 37 and was greeted with traditional baptism, water cannons and a party hosted by Houston airport officials. The return flight was LH441. Lufthansa operates on the Frankfurt-Houston route A380 aircraft named D-AIMB, Munich.
It was a holiday for Americans. Many people gathered around the airport to watch the giant's arrival. They took pictures, had fun and even a small concert was organized.
