Cyclists are invited on Saturday, 7 June 2014, to the mountain bike competition, "XC 2014 machine”, Which will take place in Măcinului Mountains. Start area will be near Greci (Tulcea county), organizers of the BikeWorks Association preparing a special event for competitors, supporters and spectators.
There are two competition routes, one 35 km for amateurs and one 45 km for elites, in the most spectacular area of the Măcin Mountains. The route for amateurs is not very physically demanding, only the first ascent is of medium difficulty, following the rest of the route to cross the main ridge of the mountains and then descend to the finish. On the other hand, the route for the elite has several climbs and descents, considerably more difficult and spectacular, for those with the experience and technique necessary to travel it and for professional athletes.
They are already registered on the official contest website mxc.bikeworks.ro about 160 of cyclists, and their number increases from day to day. Entries are open until one week prior to the race, respectively 30 Fridays (including) at 24.00 time.
In addition to the two routes, this edition of Măcin XC will also have a mini-contest for children "Kids Race", but also activities for spectators and supporters of the competitors. Also, in the evening after the competition, there will be a campfire, and the next day, Sunday, is the day of Greci commune, another reason for celebration for all those present.
The "Măcin XC 2014" competition is organized by BikeWorks Association together with Greci City Hall and Mecanturist Association, in partnership with the Romanian Cycling Federation, Tulcea County Directorate for Sports and Youth, Măcinului Mountains National Park, Studio Croma, Top Media and Hangar. Sponsors are Macin Wines, Angelo, Terra Hercinica, Arcada, Daily Open House, Giplast Balkans, Shark, Angelo Stone, Squeezy Sport Nutrition, Mausbike and Lacon.
