The nostalgic moments in aviation translate to retro livery. On 1 October 2012, Malaysia Airlines celebrated 40 years since the first commercial flight operated and decided to bring the 1972 livery back to the surface. The color scheme was drawn on a Boeing 737-800 and looks exactly like the one used 4 decades ago.

The aircraft was unveiled today at KL International Airport (KLIA) in the presence of Malaysia Airlines President Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, Group CEO Encik Ahmad Jauhari Yayha, special guests and Malaysia Airlines employees.

The Boeing 737-800 with the 40 retro livery will be operational from December 13 and will fly to Jakarta and Bangkok. Thus, MH2012 and MH711 passengers will be surprised to fly with the painted aircraft as 782 years ago. Many of them will probably become nostalgic.
