Medical emergency aboard an Airbus A330 Turkish Airlines: Romanian suspect of typhoid fever

Bucharest National Airports Company was notified today, 18 September 2018, about the existence, on board an aircraft of Turkish Airlines, of a passenger with symptoms of typhoid fever.

Tonight, the commander of flight TK1045, operated by Turkish Airlines on the route Istanbul - Bucharest, alerted the CNAB authorities about a medical emergency.

There was a passenger with symptoms of typhoid fever. The flight was operated with the Airbus A330-300 aircraft, registered TC-JNS, and on board were 194 passengers.

Romanian suspect of typhoid fever

The CNAB management immediately ordered emergency measures, according to a special procedure for such situations. The aircraft was isolated, and the 194 of passengers remained on board until the medical team of the Public Health Directorate arrived, which ordered the specific measures.

Following the specialized checks, the Romanian citizen suspected of typhoid fever was transferred to the hospital, and the other 193 passengers were safely landed without risk of contamination.
