Executive Club members can also use Avios points for short-haul flights
British Airways announces the launch of a new option that will allow Executive Club loyalty program members to use their Avios points and save money on all short-haul flights departing from the UK.
BA guests can save up to 30 pounds on short-distance ticket prices using up to 4500 Avios points. For only 1500 Avios points, they can receive a reduction of 10 pounds from the ticket price, and for 3000 points Avios - a reduction of 20 pounds.
The airline already offers its guests the opportunity to pay partly with Avios points and partly with money for tickets whose cost can be covered with Avios points. Thanks to this new option, Avios points can be used to pay any ticket for European flights, not just for those paid with such points. In addition, the offer is valid for the cabin Euro Traveler (economic), and for Club Europe (business class in Europe). Moreover, BA guests will be able to collect further Avios and Tier points, including as a result of these flights.
For example, a member of Blue Executive Club who make a round trip on the London-Istanbul route can decide to use 3000 Avios points to reduce the cost of the ticket by an amount between 20 of pounds and 125 of pounds, to choose the option "only with hand luggage" and yet to Collect 3104 Avios points for this trip. Bronze members will collect 3736 points, and Silver and Gold members will collect 4304 for the same trip.
This new payment method can be used for short-haul flights and includes all types of tickets, including new "hand luggage" and "semi-flex" options.
Executive Club is the British Airways loyalty program, composed of four categories: Blue, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Guests can collect Avios points that they can use to pay for the cost of air tickets, and Tier points, which help them move from one program level to another. The program launches for all short-haul flights departing from the UK starting October 29 and the rest of Europe starting November 4 2013.
