Middle East Airlines (MEA), a Lebanese air operator, ordered 10 aircraft from the A320neo family - 5 A320neo aircraft and 5 A321neo aircraft, plus another 8 as an option. The engines with which the aircraft will be equipped will be announced later.
MEA operates one of the most modern fleets in the Middle East, with four A330-200, four A321 and nine A320. 5000 aircraft A320 came into MEA possession, in January 2012.
Middle East Airlines is also a young member of the SkyTeam alliance. Joined 28 June 2012, becoming the 17 member of the full rights alliance and the second in the Middle East.
