Japanese conglomerate Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) confirmed that it is in talks with Bombardier to buy would be CRJ. It's just that there are discussions and nothing more.

MHI is the parent company of the subsidiary Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, which is currently developing its own line of regional aircraft. It is called MRJ and includes 2 models - MRJ70 and MRJ90. Mitsubishi hopes to debut with the MRJ series in 2020.

Mitsubishi wants to buy the CRJ series

In turn, Bombardier confirmed the talks, but declined to comment on their current status. Until the final transaction, if there is such a thing, the 2 companies will have to do the individual analysis on this acquisition. In addition, these analyzes must be approved by the Bombardier Board of Directors. The same is true of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.

We remind you that Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montreal Trudeau) has sold the C Series aircraft production line to Airbus. They were rebranded in Airbus A220 with models A220-100 and A200-300. And from 1 June 2019, C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership (CSALP) was renamed in Airbus Canada Limited Partnership.

Bombardier also recently completed the sale of the Dash 8 production line to Longview Aviation Capital Corp., part of Air Dequilland in Canada.

As you can see, Bombardier is giving up its established models. Probably in a short time we will also see the sale of the CRJ series to Mitsubishi.
