Monarch Airlines, a British operator based in Luton - London, announced that it has stopped the leasing process with Aurela Airlines after a Lithuanian company plane skidded from the runway in Birmingham. The aircraft 737-300 Aurela Airlines, registered LY-SKA, operated the flight ZB467 Nice - Birmingham under contract Monarch Airlines.

It seems that there were problems with the running system and the plane could not be stopped on the runway at landing, as it slipped on the grass. There were no victims or other more serious situations. The incident took place on 21 September at 1.11PM UK.

Flights to and from Birmingham were delayed for about two hours. Some to France and Germany were even canceled, and other flights were delayed. Aircraft already in the air for Birmingham have been diverted to Liverpool, the East Midlands and Manchester.

Some passengers were in distress and were happy because everything ended well. It seems that the problem with the landing gear has existed since taking off from the airport in Nice.

According to The Guardian, a passenger posted on his twitter account:

"Just landed in Birmingham. Plane did a rally slide into the grass after landing. Thanks Monarch !! ”
