December comes with a unique gift from British Airways. The British air carrier extends the time of watching movies on board aircraft. Starting with 1 December, passengers will be able to watch movies, TV shows or music from the moment they boarded the plane until they reach their destination.

The list of movies available for viewing will also be updated. From December, passengers will be able to watch Ice Age: Continental Drift, Brave, Happy Feet, Megamind, Matilda, The Bourne Legacy, The Expendables 2 and From Love for Rome.

Until now British Airways was opening its entertainment system after the aircraft took off and several announcements were sent to passengers. The system was shut down with 15-20 minutes before landing.

The Civil Aviation Authority has given the green light for extending the time period during which the entertainment system is available, but only for long flights.

British Airways has also released the list of most visited movies on 2011. In the top of the films watched last year are: The Avengers, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Prometheus, Dark Knight Rises, Snow White and the Huntsman.

Over the next five years, British Airways will invest over 5 billion in new aircraft as well as cabin and lounge upgrades. The price of air tickets is a deciding factor in choosing the airline, but many passengers have begun to take into account the entertainment system and even the service on board the aircraft.
