After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the German festival for beer lovers, Oktoberfest 2022, will take place in Munich, between September 17 and October 3, during which more than 6 million tourists are expected.

According to the festival's official website, no coronavirus restrictions will be imposed; therefore, there is no limitation to the ability of humans. A cancellation of Oktoberfest 2022 is not possible, says mayor Dieter Reiter. In the end it is up to everyone how, how much and in what way they want to enjoy themselves at Oktoberfest 2022 and at the same time protect themselves against COVID-19.

However, there are some changes that visitors should be aware of. Specifically, the city council decided that the new opening time will be 9am on weekdays, which is an hour earlier than previous festivals.

In addition, the tents will be open for an additional 30 minutes, until 22:30, while the Bräurosl Peter Reicher, where the festival will take place, will have the capacity to host 8250 people inside, and another 560 guests can sit in covered outdoor space.

There are usually over six million visitors, with 7,8 million liters of beer served by a staff of 13.000 people. The roughly two-week festival generates over 1,23 billion euros for the local economy.
