New measures taken by Turkey: entry form + COVID-19 test (no test in transit)

As of March 15, 2021, air passengers arriving in Turkey are required to complete the entry form on the portal register.health.gov.tr, with a maximum of 72 before boarding. The form will be presented on board in physical format (printed) or electronically (on mobile phone). After completing the form, the HES code will be issued, based on which passengers will have access to internal transport and accommodation. If the passengers did not fill in the above-mentioned form prior to the trip, they will be supported by the representatives of the airline to complete it.

From 28 December 2020, persons arriving in the Republic of Turkey by air must present on board a negative PCR-type molecular test for infection with SARS-CoV-2 virus, carried out no later than 72 hours before entry into the Republic of Turkey.

Persons who do not take the negative PCR test will not be allowed to board aircraft destined for the Republic of Turkey. Also, starting with December 30, 2020, the obligation to present the negative result of a molecular PCR test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, performed at most 72 hours before entering the Republic of Turkey, also applies to persons who intends to enter this state by road, rail or sea.

Careful! From 31 December 2020, all persons, regardless of nationality, who will perform airport transit (by air) on the territory of the Republic of Turkey are exempted from the obligation to present on board an aircraft a PCR-type molecular test with a negative result for infection. with SARS-CoV-2 virus, performed no later than 72 hours before arrival, provided that you remain in the free zone of the airport. This derogation does not apply to persons changing airports (eg Sabiha Gökcen Airport with Istanbul Airport or vice versa).

With the exception of seafarers, truck drivers, carriers, seafarers and children under the age of 6, all persons transiting the Republic of Turkey by road, rail or sea shall report to the Turkish customs authorities the negative result upon entry into the country. of a PCR-type molecular test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, performed a maximum of 72 hours prior to arrival in the Republic of Turkey.

Children under 6 years of age are exempted from presenting the PCR test for COVID-19

Exempted from the presentation of a PCR-type molecular test with a negative result for SARS-CoV-2 infection, as well as from quarantine, children under the age of 6, flight crew members, truck drivers, carriers and sailors, including those in transit.

Careful! The measure requiring the submission of a negative PCR-type molecular test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection by all the above categories was extended by the Turkish authorities until 26 May 2021 inclusive.

If persons intending to travel by road, rail and sea, including those in transit, are unable to present the result of the test (at the request of the authorities), they may enter the territory of the Republic of Turkey, stating that the quarantine measure will be applied to them for a period of 10 days, at the declared accommodation address (home, hotel, etc.), and on the 7th day they will travel to perform a PCR molecular test for SARS infection -CoV-2. If the test result is negative, the persons concerned will be able to get out of quarantine.
