As of October 26, 2020, the Spanish central government has declared a state of emergency throughout Spain. It shall be in force until 9 May 2021. Among the measures required by the state of emergency are the following:
- Restricting traffic between 23: 00-6: 00, with the possibility of postponing or extending this program by one hour, a decision that remains at the discretion of each autonomous community.
- Meetings throughout Spain are limited to a maximum of 6 people.
- The Autonomous Communities may decide to close the perimeter of the region or municipalities, as well as limit the entrances and exits in each region.
New measures taken by Spanish regional authorities
And below are the measures taken by the Spanish regional authorities in the context of COVID-19.
🟠ANDALUSIA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the region until February 1, 2021; perimeter closure of 219 municipalities, including Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada and Malaga.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 4 people, except for people living together.
🟠ARAGON
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the region and provinces until January 31. Perimeter closure of the three capitals (Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel), and 6 municipalities Alcañiz, Calatayud, Cuarte de Huerva, Ejea de los Caballeros, Tarazona and Utebo.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 4 people.
🟠ASTURIAS
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region. The municipalities of Avilés, Oviedo, Castrillón, Corvera, Llanes, Cangas de Narcea, Grado and Gozon are also closed on the perimeter. Noreña will be closed from January 23, and Gijón and Mieres will be closed on January 24.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people. Maximum 4 people in Oviedo, Llanes, Cangas del Narcea, Avilés Castrillón and Corvera de Asturias.
🟠 THE BALEARIC ISLANDS
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00 in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza; 00.00-6.00 in Formentera, where entry and exit restrictions also apply
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people. In the islands of Mallorca and Ibiza, only meetings between people living together are allowed.
🟠 CANARY ISLANDS
• Perimeter closure of the entire region. The entry restriction will not apply to those passengers who are undergoing health control of symptoms or presentation of a Covid-19 test with a negative result performed in the last 72 hours prior to arrival. Entry and exit restrictions apply to the islands of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
• Restriction of meetings: in the islands of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, meetings are only allowed for people living together; maximum 4 people in the islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura and maximum 6 people in the other islands.
🟠 CANTABRIA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people, except for people living together.
🟠 CASTILLA-LA MANCHA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-7.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region. Entry and exit restrictions apply to all municipalities.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 4 people.
🟠 CASTILLA AND LEON
• Prohibition of travel: 20.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region until May 9, 2021. Entry and exit restrictions in all provinces of the autonomous community.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 4 people.
🟠 CATALONIA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region. Entry and exit restrictions apply in all municipalities. Exception: physical activities and individual outdoor sports activities between neighboring municipalities.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people from a maximum of two different dwellings.
🟠 THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the region.
• Restriction of meetings: meetings are allowed for people living together.
🟠 EXTREMADURA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the region. Perimeter closure of all municipalities.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people.
🟠 GALICIA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the region. Perimeter closures in 114 municipalities, including the cities of Vigo, A Coruña, Ourense, Santiago, Pontevedra and Ferrol.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 4 people. In the municipalities of Arteixo, Viveiro and Xinzo de Limia, meetings are only allowed for people living together.
🟠 IN RIOJA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of the region. Entry and exit restrictions apply to all municipalities.
• Restriction of meetings: meetings are only allowed for people living together.
🟠 MADRID
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Perimeter closure of several sanitary areas that can be checked here: https://comunidadmadrid.maps.arcgis.com/…/index.html…
• Restriction of meetings: Prohibition of meetings at home, except for cohabiting persons and those who provide care where appropriate. The restrictions apply between 25 January 2021 and 8 February 2021.
🟠 MURCIA
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00-6.00
• Permission closure of the entire region, as well as all municipalities in the region. Exceptions: the municipalities of Aledo and Librilla, trips between the municipalities of Cartagena and San Javier.
• Restriction of meetings: meetings are only allowed for people living together.
🟠 NAVARRE
• Prohibition of travel: 23.00 - 6.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people.
🟠 BASQUE COUNTRY
• Prohibition of travel: 22.00 - 6.00
• Perimeter closure of the entire region, as well as of all municipalities in the region. Prohibition of entry and exit from / into the municipality of residence / other municipality except between neighboring municipalities.
• Limitation of meetings: maximum 6 people.
