On October 16, 2018, Norwegian Group launched the flights of the Argentine subsidiary. The first flight operated by Norwegian Air Argentina was on the route Buenos Aires - Cordoba, under the code DN6022.

It is not the first time that Norwegian flies from Buenos Aires, having several active flights on the route Buenos Aires - London, but it is the first domestic flight from Argentina. This is the 6th market for Norwegian, after Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Spain.

The new Argentine airline operates flights with a Boeing 737-800, with other 3 aircraft joining the fleet by the end of 2018. At the same time, Norwegian Air Argentina should operate on six routes departing from Buenos Aires (AEP) to Córdoba, Mendoza, Iguazú, Neuquén, Bariloche or Salta.

By the end of next year, Norwegian Air Argentina's fleet could reach a total of 15 737-800 aircraft.

Also in 2019, Norwegian Group intends to conquer another market in South America, this time being Brazil.

Norwegian Air Argentina was authorized by the Argentine government at the beginning of the 2017 year. The Argentine authorities have approved 153 routes from the 157 requested. 73 of routes will be domestic and 80 of routes will be international, with flights to South America, North America, Oceania and Europe.

Norwegian officials have big plans with the Argentine subsidiary. They will develop 3 bases in Argentina and will allocate 70 aircraft for short, medium and long flights.
