Norwegian receives first Airbus A320neo (rented by HK Express)

On 9 December 2016, Arctic Aviation Assets Ltd (AAA) (Norwgian Air Shuttle subsidiary) received the first Airbus A320neo. This is the first of a 70 order of A320neo aircraft, which was placed by the Norwegian Group.

At the same time, this is the first one A320neo of the 12 rented by the low-cost operator HK Express, Hong Kong. The aircraft arrived in the Chinese carrier fleet on 12 December 2016. Incorporated B-LCL (MSN 7209), the aircraft is configured to carry up to 188 passengers.

In the near future, Norwegian will become Airbus aircraft operator. In addition to the 70 A320neo aircraft, the Norwegian carrier also ordered 30 units Airbus A321LR (Long Range). 8 of these will be received in 2019, following the other 22 by A321LR to reach the Norwegian fleet during the 2020-2021 period.

The new A321LR medium-courier aircraft has a longer range of flight compared to A320neo, being even more fuel efficient. It will be configured in a class with 220 seats. Norwegian will use these aircraft on long-haul flights between destinations in Europe and the east coast of the United States, between Scandinavia and destinations in Asia, But and between destinations in South America and Europe.
