On 6 August 2014, the new runway of the airport in Iasi received a final inspection. The works are carried out according to the plan and even faster. At that time, 1800 meters were ready, and the asphalting had reached 2150 meters from the total of 2400 meters.
The inauguration of the runway is scheduled for August 21, when the people of Iași are invited to the airport to say "MISSION FULFILLED", according to the statements made by the president of the CJ Cristian Adomniţei. The event will take place at Iasi Airport, on the airport platform, with access through the T2 terminal, between 09:30 and 12:30.
For better information, Iasi Airport informs passengers that on the 21 August 2014, the check-in counters will open one hour earlier, valid for each flight.
On 21.08.2014, starting with the time 9: 30, will be celebrated the inauguration of the new landing-take-off runway of Iasi International Airport, an event which is expected to be attended by at least 1000 persons, invited officials and citizens of Iasi.
This is why Iasi Airport wants to prevent any inconvenience that may arise due to the crowding created and recommends to all passengers to come to the airport for check-in at least one hour before the standard schedule already established.
