A new policy for charging additional luggage on TAROM flights

As of today, July 15, 2020, it enters into force a new additional baggage charging policy on TAROM flights. The changes concern the values ​​of the applicable taxes, as well as the reclassification of special luggage in certain types of categories. And below you have all the details.

Details on excess baggage:

  1. Accumulation of surplus tariffs Numeric and / or Weight and / or Dimensions:
    If several excess charges are applicable for a piece of luggage, they will be added together
  2. Standard Part Weight / Fractions: 
    When determining the weight of the standard part, the fractions between 23 and 24 kg are not taken into account; the piece weighing more than or equal to 24 kg will be considered as the piece with excess weight.
  3. Cumulative Weight of Parts:
    The weights of the parts presented by the passenger for transport as hold baggage will not be cumulated, each piece being considered as such and charged according to the Table presented above.
  4. Cumulative Number of Parts:
    If two or more persons travel with the same flight to the same destination, present themselves together and at the same time at the place of registration, they are granted the right to accumulate the number of individually admitted parts free of charge for transport, but shall not accepts the cumulation of weights / dimensions of the parts.
  5. Sports equipment up to 23kg (50.5lb) and dimensions up to 158cm (62in) (chess, tennis, darts, etc.) are treated as a standard piece. In case of exceeding the free luggage norm from the ticket, they will be charged according to the Table presented above. Sports equipment that does not fall into this category will be charged in accordance with the fees provided in the Special Luggage section.

These regulations apply only to flights operated by TAROM with its own aircraft. In the case of code-share flights operated by TAROM partners, other rules imposed by the flight operator may apply. To be informed, we recommend that you consult the specialized websites of the respective companies.

If TAROM participates in the ticket itinerary in connection with other carriers, the rules and fares of the first en route operator (TAROM) will apply for the sector / sectors where the luggage is registered and we warn you that you may be charged for excess baggage by others en route carriers.

Please note that in some countries outside the EURO area, it is possible to pay in local currency the equivalent of the amounts shown in the table in local currency.
