A brief recap of Blue Air and the new livery

As have announced since the fall of 2013, Blue Air officials want to expand the fleet from 6 to 8 aircraft. For the first time in the company's history, two of these aircraft will be owned by Blue Air, the remainder of 6 to be operated under operational leasing.

An aircraft has already arrived and it is about Boeing 737-400 (YR-BAR). It was presented in the new livery, it was designed and executed in-house by Art Director Blue Air, Mr. Ciprian Ciuclea, and the painting was done by MRO Blue Air (Maintenance and Repair Organization Blue Air). I like the new color scheme, even if it's so simple. In the near future I hope that all Blue Air aircraft will be painted the same.

In a simple search on planespotters.net, we found that the aircraft is 22.2 years old and powered by two CFMI CFM56-3C1 engines. The first flight was operated on 18.12.1991. Boeing 737-4Q8 was an aircraft made specifically for ILFC (International Lease Finance Corporation). During the 22 years, the aircraft was in the fleets of the airlines: Cayman Airways, Olympic Airways, Sky Airlines, Ansett Worldwide (AWAS). He joined the Blue Air fleet at 19.12.2013. The capacity of the Boeing 737-400 (YR-BAR) aircraft is 170 seats.

In a press release, Blue Air also makes a brief recap of the new services implemented since the takeover of the airline by the company Blue Air Airline Management Solutions. Of these we can mention:

- increasing the fleet from 6 to 8 aircraft, which allows to increase the number of flights on the existing destinations, the introduction of new destinations (Cologne, from 16 June, with 3 frequent / weekly), as well as the reactivation of the charters segment to holiday destinations in Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum), Greece (Rhodos, Zakynthos and Corfu) and Israel (Tel Aviv).
- change the catering service by introducing sandwiches that are specially created and produced by the famous chef Jakob Hausmann, as well as the inclusion of new drinks that are of premium quality.
- Launch of the Pre-Flight Reminder program, service by which each Blue Air passenger receives a personalized newsletter, with 2 days before the date of the trip, information that includes general data about the trip, detailing the optional services chosen by the passenger.
- Activation of the Joint Check-in system for all flights departing from Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni), the procedure that reduces the waiting time of passengers, before traveling by plane.
- connecting Blue Air flights with the integrated flight system land transfer between Bucharest and Constanta, which will make Blue Air destinations more accessible. This new transfer system will be available soon from Brasov.
- Implementation of numerous alternative payment methods for passengers who are not card holders (bank transfer, cash deposit, Qiwi or ZebraPay terminals).
signing the partnership with Hahn Air, to develop the distribution through GDS (Amadeus, Travelport, Apollo, Saber, Mermaid). As a result of this partnership, agencies from over 190 countries can sell Blue Air tickets, with their settlement through the IATA-BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan) system. Through Hahn Air, Blue Air is automatically an interline partner with over 250 of other airlines and becomes a link to the global air transport system.
- launch the project "#flying", which allows customers to only find the cheapest flight to their desired vacation destination within 30 days in just 30 seconds.
