The president of Dolj County Council, Ion Prioteasa, said: “The inauguration of the Wizz Air base is an extremely important moment for Craiova Airport, for the Dolj County Council and for all those living in the southwestern part of Romania. For the airport, the opening of this operating point translates into newly created jobs, in the multiplication of the services offered to passengers, but also in a recognition of its European status, which has been increasingly shaped in recent times. For Dolj County Council, today's event confirms the investment initiative we made at the airport five years ago, concluding that it was correct and aimed not only at the community in our county, but throughout the region. We remain true to the motto "County Council invests in the Airport", because now we can say with full force that Oltenia is gaining wings to Europe. "
