OFFICIAL: Romania updated the red, yellow, green list. Portugal, Cyprus, Russia, Iran have entered the yellow list; Tunisia has entered the red list!

On July 1, Romania updated the red, yellow, green list. Portugal, Cyprus, Russia, Iran have entered the yellow list; Tunisia has entered the red list! Britain remains on the red list because of the new strains. Under the new law, Romania no longer requires the mandatory presentation of a negative PCR test on board.

List with the classification of countries / territories according to the cumulative incidence rate, according to Decision no. 43 of 01.07.2021 of the National Committee for Emergency Situations.

The classification of countries / territories of epidemiological risk, according to the cumulative incidence rate at 14 days, is performed in 3 categories as follows:

  1. Green area - where the cumulative incidence rate of new cases of illness in the last 14 days per 1.000 inhabitants is less than or equal to 1,5;
  2. Yellow Zone - where the cumulative incidence rate of new cases of illness in the last 14 days per 1.000 inhabitants is between 1,5 and 3 per 1.000 inhabitants;
  3. The Red Zone - where the cumulative incidence rate of new cases of illness in the last 14 days in relation to 1.000 inhabitants is greater than or equal to 3 per 1000 inhabitants.
  • The classification from the yellow or green zone to the red zone, as well as the classification from the green zone to the yellow zone, enters into force within 24 hours from the approval of the List of countries / territories of epidemiological risk by decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations.
  • The classification from the red zone to the green or yellow zone, as well as the classification from the yellow zone to the green zone, enters into force on the date of approval of the List of countries / territories of epidemiological risk by decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations.

Travel conditions in the areas: yellow and red!

To avoid any discussion, I would like to inform you that Spain, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy and many other EU countries are on the green list. You can travel from the green area to Romania without restrictions and without tests.

Those who choose to travel from the yellow zone to Romania, such as travelers from Portugal, Cyprus or Russia, will need a PCR test to avoid quarantine. Those vaccinated are exempted from tests and quarantine.

Those who choose to travel from the red zone to Romania, such as Great Britain, Tunisia, Maldives, will be quarantined for 14 days. They will be able to shorten their quarantine if they are tested on the 8th day. Those vaccinated can be exempted from quarantine. The PCR test does not help you avoid quarantine, Romania does not ask for it.
