The first Turkish Airlines flight will depart from the New Istanbul Airport to Ankara, at 14: 00, on 6 April. Then the operational program will grow based on a well-established plan.

After the "Great Move", the IATA codes of the 2 airports will change. Specifically, Ataturk International Airport will receive the ISL code, while the New Istanbul Airport will receive the IST code.
After April 6, Ataturk International Airport will be closed to regular passenger traffic. It will be open only to cargo, technical and VIP flights.
