Blue Air operational changes: fleet reduced, destinations eliminated, number of flights reduced.

Blue Air, the only low-cost company in Romania, is going through difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It needs financial support from the authorities, and gthe government approved the rescue credit.

However, due to travel restrictions imposed by Romania and other EU countries, Blue Air decided to resume flights starting July 1, 2020. This can also be seen in the booking system. Blue Air has activated international flights and routes, But and internal routes, starting July 1.

At the same time, our sources informed us that Blue Air decided to reduce the fleet to 8 aircraft, a measure that comes with the drastic reduction of the operational program. And, more than likely, layoffs will be operated on.

Blue Air will keep the bases in Romania: Bucureşti (4 aircraft), Iaşi (1 aircraft), Bacau (1 plane). But also the international bases in Larnaca (1 plane) and Torino (1 plane).

Given the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it certainly does not need more planes for the routes and flights that now exist in the reservation system.

From the base in Turin give up routes: Turin - Comiso; Turin - Calabria region; Turin - Ibiza; Turin - Palma de Mallorca.

From the base in Bacau give up: Bacau - Bologna; Bacau - Madrid; Bacau - Athena; Bacau - Copenhagen; Bacau - Liverpool; Bacau - Oslo; Bacau - Stuttgart.

From the base in Bucharest give up routes: Bucharest - Bologna; Bucharest - Catania; Bucharest - Lisbon; Bucharest - Barcelona; Bucharest - Birmingham; Bucharest - Bordeaux ; Bucharest - Castellón; Bucharest - Madrid; Bucharest - Munich; Bucharest - Paris-CDG.

From the base in Iasi give up routes: Iasi - Barcelona; Iasi - Verona; Iasi - Roma.

We are surprised by the routes removed from the Blue Air system. We were shocked that Blue Air decided to give up Madrid and Barcelona. Maybe it's a temporary decision and we will soon see new changes in the operational program.

We are optimistic, but at the same time realistic. Given that the COVID-19 pandemic is in full swing, we recommend caution and patience. Travel responsibly! We are also waiting to see the new travel conditions, which will be imposed by the authorities for social distancing.
