Military Ordinance 10: flights remain suspended until May 14 inclusive

The Romanian government has issued a new military ordinance. Military Ordinance 10 of 27 April 2020 on measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I extracted from the ordinance the text that refers to the flights from / to Romania.

Considering the provisions of art. 24 of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 1/1999 on the state of siege and the state of emergency, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 22 of January 21, 1999, approved with amendments and completions by Law no. 453/2004, with the subsequent amendments and completions, of art. 2 and art. 3 para. (3) of Decree no. 240/2020 on the extension of the state of emergency on the Romanian territory, taking into account the assessment made by the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations, approved by Decision no. 21 of 27.04.2020, for the implementation of the provisions of points 3 and 4 of annex no. 2 to the Decree no. 240/2020, pursuant to art. 20 lit. n) of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 1/1999, approved with modifications and completions by Law no. 453/2004, with subsequent amendments and completions, the Minister of Internal Affairs issues the following

Military Ordinance 10 - flights remain suspended

Art.3 - (1) The measure of suspension of flights performed by air economic operators to Spain and from Spain to Romanians is extendeda, for all airports in Romania, for a period of 14 days, from 28 April 2020, until May 11, 2020, inclusive.

(2) The measure of suspension of flights to Austria, Belgium, the Swiss Confederation, the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Turkey and Iran and from these countries to Romania is extended., for all airports in Romania, for a period of 13 days, from 2 May 2020, until May 14, 2020, inclusive.

(3) The measure of suspension of flights to Italy and from this country to Romania is extended, for all airports in Romania, for a period of 12 days, from 3 May 2020, until May 14, 2020, inclusive.

(4) The measure of suspension of flights to France and Germany and from these countries to Romania is extended, for all airports in Romania, for a period of 10 days, from 5 May 2020, until May 14, 2020, inclusive.

(5) The measures provided in par. (1) to (4) does not apply to flights performed by state aircraft, cargo and mail flights, humanitarian or providing emergency medical services, technical services, and non-commercial technical landings.

Unfortunately, the new ordinance upsets airlines' plans. Wizz Air, TAROM and RYANAIR are forced to postpone the resumption of flights from / to Romania. In theory, Blue Air flights would not be affected because they are available in the system after May 14th.
