Otopeni Airport restricts its daily activities. The number of daily flights has dropped dramatically.
Due to the drastic reduction in the number of passengers passing through Henri Coandă Airport, check-in formalities are currently carried out only on the 53-104 countertops, the security control being carried out on the control lines related to them.
Also for the efficient use of the infrastructure, for the boarding of passengers, from today (March 26, 2020) a small number of boarding gates will be used.
Otopeni Airport restricts its daily activities
Most of the airlines, with flights from / to Bucharest, suspended their activities. Currently, most of the flights operated are from / to destinations in the UK.
Today, March 11th, Wizz Air has 7 flights scheduled: 4 x London, 1 x Basel, 1 x SHEFFELD (DSA) and 1 x EINDHOVEN (EIN). TAROM has 4 flights: 1 x London, 1 x Brussels, 1 x Amsterdam, 1 x Istanbul. Turkish Airlines still operates 1 flight to Istanbul and KLM still has a flight to Amsterdam. Shortly, KLM will cancel flights to Bucharest until May 3rd. And from March 27, Turkish Airlines will cancel all international flights, with little exceptions. It will also suspend flights to destinations in Romania.
As soon as the traffic returns to normal, it will quickly switch to full capacity operation. The time required to reactivate all check-in counters, security control lines and boarding gates is 1-2 hours.
