Over 1800 of flights canceled / affected by the traffic controllers strike in France

During the period 11-13 June 2013, traffic controllers in France are on strike. The air traffic controllers unions in France are protesting against the liberalization of airspace throughout Europe under the name of Single European Sky.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) announced on Tuesday that about 1.800 flights were canceled in France, out of a total of 7.650 flights / day. Flights from / to Romania were also affected. The official website of Henri Coanda - Otopeni International Airport showed the canceled flights to / from Paris:

Si Blue Air announced that the flights operated by the company to Nice and Paris could be affected by the strike. Blue Air airline announces flight passengers JOR 149, JOR 105 and JOR 205, with the purpose of Otopeni-Nice, Otopeni-Paris and Bacău-Paris, that the flights can suffer major irregularities, until they are canceled.

In the same situation are the return flights from Nice and Paris, with the signs JOR 150, JOR 106 and JOR 206. In case of delays greater than 2 hours and 30 minutes, there is a risk of cancellation of flights due to the operating restrictions on the mentioned airports. This situation may occur even if the check-in formalities were completed according to the Blue Air flight schedule.

The strike will affect the airports: Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris and Toulouse and involve at least 50% reduction in the number of flights. Normally, many aircraft should remain on the ground, but each airline makes efforts to operate flights so that passengers are not affected.

The airport authorities in France, as well as the airlines, urge passengers to be interested in real time on the status of flights.
