More than 50 repatriation flights will be operated from Bucharest

Over 50 repatriation flights are announced, so far, at the “Henri Coandă” International Airport in Bucharest. They are scheduled for March 2-13, 2022 and are aimed at Athens, New Delhi, Cairo, Mumbai, Istanbul, Casablanca, Medina, Kuwait, India, Lisbon, Amman and Tbilisi. Please note that the program is constantly being updated and new races can be added.

As of today, March 2, 2022, 16 repatriation charter flights have been scheduled at the “Henri Coanda” International Airport in Bucharest for 3079 citizens of other states who were on the territory of Ukraine at the time of the military conflict with Russia. Thus, four Indian airlines will operate flights to New Delhi, Mumbai, Hindon and Kuwait, carrying a total of 1486 Indian nationals.

Also, the airline Garuda Indonesia will operate a repatriation flight for a number of 199 passengers, taking off to Medina, Royal Jordanian Air Force will operate a flight to Amman (70 passengers), Royal Air Maroc will operate a flight with Casablanca (159 passengers), Brazilian Air Force will operate a flight to Lisbon, and Turkish Airlines will operate five flights to Istanbul, carrying 1165 passengers.

Special waiting areas have been set up at the airport for passengers to be repatriated, and they have a special flow at their disposal and an area dedicated to border control. In the shortest time, in front of the Departures terminal, tents will be set up to take over the passengers who crowd the public area during the waiting period, before the formalities preceding the flight.

The tents will be heated and passengers will receive water, tea and useful information. A translation point with Ukrainian and Russian interpreters has also been set up to facilitate the transmission of information to passengers from Ukraine.

The Bucharest Airports National Company has taken all the necessary measures to ensure that the processing of all passengers takes place in the best conditions; to this end, its own airport staff has been supplemented and handling and control staff have been requested.
