Cathay Pacific opted for the 10 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, the largest Asian airline based in Hong Kong, has chosen to order 10 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, at the Farnborough International Airshow 2012 event. It plans to convert the existing order from 16 Airbus A350-900 units to 16 A350-1000 units.

Cathay Pacific currently has 48 Airbus A350 aircraft commissioned and will lease two more from the leasing agency. A350-1000 has undergone new design changes and will be able to carry up to 350 passengers in a three-class configuration. It is an aircraft suitable for long-haul flights operated by Cathay Pacific to Europe and North America.

New aircraft A350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body) will be powered by two powerful Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, by 97,000lbs. The A350 XWB series will be in service from the 2014!
