By the end of the year 2022, Air France will withdraw Airbus A380 aircraft

On 14 February 2019, Airbus has announced the closure of A380. The last delivery of an a380 will be done in 2021. With this decision, the airlines canceled the outstanding orders for A380.

At the same time, the airlines owned by A380 have started to announce the withdrawal program of this aircraft from the operational service. Emirates has canceled the remaining order of 39 from A380 aircraft. He compensated by ordering A330neo and A350 aircraft.

On 30 July 2019, Air France announced the plan to retire A380 aircraft from its fleet. According to him, Air France gives up the Airbus A380 aircraft, until the end of 2022.

The new Air France CEO, Benjamin Smith, conducted a financial audit of the company. The results showed that the A380 is far too costly at the operational level compared to the other wide-body aircraft, especially the Boeing 777-300ER, which operate on a simulated basis.

Air France currently owns 10 super-jumbo aircraft. This year it was decided to drop 3 from them and return them to the leasing company. We remind you that Air France bought 5 A380 aircraft, and the other 5 rented them.

Air France will take over the new A350 aircraft, which will replace the A380, A340 aircraft. But also on the oldest triple seven aircraft. Following the group agreement, Air France will only receive A350, while KLM will upgrade its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
