On June 6, 2016, Air France inaugurated a new transatlantic route: Paris-Orly - New York-JFK. Air France uses Boeing 777-200 aircraft to operate a daily flight on this route, according to the following schedule:

AF032: Paris-Orly 11:20 - 13:25 New York-JFK
AF037: New York-JFK 18:25 - 07:45 + 1 Paris-Orly

The aircraft is configured in 3 classes: 35 seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 250 seats in Economy Class. The new flights complement Air France's offer to North American destinations.

This year, the French operator is celebrating 70 years of flights between Paris and New York. The route was inaugurated on 1 July 1946. 33 passengers chose the inaugural flight, which was operated with a Douglas DC-4 aircraft and lasted 23 hours and 45 minutes. In 1960, Air France linked the 2 cities with Boeing 707, and the flight time dropped to 8 hours and 15 minutes. In 1970, New York-JFK airport welcomed Boeing 747 Air France, then Concorde from 1977. In 2009, the first Airbus A380 Air France was to fly to New York.

The Air France - KLM Group serves 12 North American destinations (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, San Francisco, Salt Lake City) and operates 214 weekly flights departing from Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
