On 1 July 2018, to celebrate 25 years of flights between Oman and the United Arab Emirates, Emirates will operate a special Airbus A380 flight on the Dubai - Muscat route.

On July 1, to mark 25 years of flights between Oman and the United Arab Emirates, Emirates will operate a special Airbus A380 flight on the Dubai - Muscat route. Also, this flight will reconfirm the infrastructure of Muscat Airport, which can also receive Airbus A380 aircraft.

Flights EK862 and EK863 (Dubai - Muscat) will be operated according to the following schedule:

EK862 Dubai 08:25 - 09:35 Muscat
EK863 Muscat 12:05 - 13:10 Dubai

Airbus A380 Emirates on the Dubai - Muscat route

In 1993, Emirates inaugurated the first service to Muscat. Since then, Emirates has transported over 4.3 millions of passengers to and from Oman.

The debut was made with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, with 4 weekly flights honored. Today, Emirates operates 3 daily flights to Muscat and uses Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Airbus A380 Emirates, which will fly to Muscat, will be configured in 3 classes and can carry: 429 seats in Economy class on the lower deck, 76 seats in Business Class and 14 apartments in First Class.

Emirates is the largest Airbus A380 aircraft operator. The airline currently has 103 super-jumbo in service and 59 on order. Emirates flies to 50 from destinations around the world with A380 aircraft.
