Pegasus Airlines, the second largest airline in Turkey and one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, has ordered 75 aircraft from the Airbus A320neo family (57 A320neo and 18 A321neo) and can order 25 in the future. This is the largest order of Airbus aircraft issued by a Turkish airline.

The aircraft will be configured with a single class: 180 of seats on A320neo and 220 of seats on A321neo. They will be delivered during the 2015-2016 period and will replace the current Boeing 737 aircraft. They will be used on routes in Europe, the Middle East and Turkey.

I'm glad to see how some airlines look forward to the future, even if the world economy will suffer for a long time. Moreover, I know how to adapt to the current economic conditions. A320neo aircraft will reduce fuel consumption by up to 15%, which matters a lot for a low cost and even a full service company.

Pegasus also flies on the route Bucharest - Istanbul, and the ticket price starts from 100 EUR round trip.
