During the period 23-24 November 2016, Lufthansa pilots are on strike. Specifically, these are pilots affiliated to the “Vereinigung Cockpit” (VC) - the association of commercial pilots and flight engineers from Germany. They ask for an average salary increase of 3.66% / year, retroactively over the last 5 years.

They will be affected Lufthansa flights from Germany, on the continental and intercontinental routes. The strike will take place between 23 November 2016 (00 time: 01) and 24 November 2016 (23 time: 59). The times are local in Germany.

The strike affects approximately 900 of flights operated by Lufthansa (over 100 000 of affected passengers). According to official statements, flights operated by Germanwings, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Brussels Airlines are not affected and will be operated according to the flight schedule. Other sources mention that Eurowings also canceled 60 flights to / from Hamburg and Dusseldorf.

Lufthansa regrets the inconvenience caused by the Vereinigung Cockpit strike and will try to minimize the impact on its passengers.

All flights operated by Lufthansa from / to Bucharest were also affected. Taking a look at the flight schedule, the flights appear canceled: LH1657 Bucharest - Munich; LH1423 Bucharest - Frankfurt; LH1652 / LH1653 Munich - Bucharest - Munich; LH1418 / LH1419 Frankfurt - Bucharest - Frankfurt; LH1654 / LH1655 Munich - Bucharest - Munich;
