On 7 October 2016, Spirit Airlines, based in Miramar, Florida (US), received the first Airbus A320neo from the fleet. This is also the first A320neo delivered to an airline in the United States.

Spirit Airlines has ordered 55 aircraft from the A320neo family, 5 leased from AerCap and 50 ordered directly from Airbus. All aircraft will be powered by engines Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100-JM.
Spirit Airlines has a fleet consisting of 100% of Airbus aircraft, being efficient and easy to maintain. And the passengers have to gain by the comfort offered on board the airplanes of the A320 family.
Since its official launch, Airbus has delivered 26 aircraft from the new A320neo family. Announced in 2010, the new generation of A320neo aircraft has received orders for 4800 units from 87 customers.
