The first Airbus A321neo Azores Airlines was delivered

Last week, the first Airbus A321neo Azores Airlines was delivered. The aircraft was delivered from the Airbus center in Hamburg.

On December 15, the first Airbus A321neo Azores Airlines was delivered from its Hamburg base. Thus, the carrier owned by SATA (Sociedade Açoreana de Transportes Aéreos) is the first in Portugal with this type of aircraft in the fleet. The aircraft was leased from the Air Lease Corporation (ALC).

This aircraft is the first in a series of six A321neo leased by Azores Airlines from ALC. The aircraft will operate flights on transoceanic routes. Azores Airlines currently operates a fleet of seven aircraft: 3 x A310-300, 3 x A320-200 and 1 x A330-200.

The Portuguese carrier, based in Ponta Delgada, operates flights to Europe, Canada and North America.

Airbus A321neo is the largest member of the A320neo family and can accommodate up to 240 passengers. Airbus A321neo Azores Airlines can carry up to 186 passengers, being configured in 2 classes.

The A321neo model integrates the latest technologies, the latest generations of engines, Sharplet devices and cabin upgrades. All of these upgrades reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.
