Construction of the first has begun Boeing 787-8 British Airways. The aircraft is scheduled to join the British fleet in May 2013. British Airways has ordered 24 from Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft (8 units 787-8 and 16 units 787-9) and 12 superjumbo Airbus A380. The British carrier is about to be the first in Europe with 787 and A380 in the fleet.

I told you about the two aircraft models. Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the first commercial aircraft built largely from composite materials. Instead of aluminum, more carbon fiber is used. The aircraft is lighter and the manufacturer promises fuel efficiency. In addition to the advantages for the air carrier, Boeing also mentions passenger facilities. The new 787-8 comes equipped with comfortable seats, new technologies for entertainment on board, is more roomy etc.

About Airbus A380 I do not think there is anything left to be mentioned. A380 is 5 years old since it entered the market. 86 units were delivered to 9 airline operators. In the near future other 11 companies will enjoy A380, British Airways being one of them. Airbus delays delivery of the first A380 British Airways, but offered guarantees that, by the end of 2013, BA would enjoy "the giant of heaven".
