The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner WestJet was delivered

On 17 January 2019, Boeing delivered the first Boeing 787 WestJet, marking the beginning of the airline's global expansion.

To date, WestJet, one of Canada's largest air carriers, has operated a fleet of single-aisle aircraft. By welcoming the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, WestJet will step up its expansion to far-flung destinations.

The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner WestJet

The first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner WestJet will be used on the Calgary - Dublin route, being the first long-haul destination. It will later be introduced on the routes Calgary - London Gatwick and Calgary - Paris. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has a range of up to 14140 kilometers.

787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will be able to carry up to 320 passengers in a configuration with 3 classes: 16 seats to business class, 28 seats to premium economy and 276 seats to economy.
