This morning, at the Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, the International Aeronautical Telecommunications System SITA registered
malfunction.

Therefore, delays between 30-60 minutes were recorded on some flights. No airline was canceled for this reason. The system was restarted at 8:12.

We note that for March 6, 2020, SITA had scheduled an upgrade operation, which involved the controlled restart of all equipment, within a time interval that would not affect air traffic.

The operation started at 00:30. Around 04:00 a malfunction was registered, being informed in this regard all airlines and handling agencies for the application of the required measures. Operational intervention was made and the system was put back into operation, and starting at 8:12 am, the processing of passengers at the airport takes place under normal conditions.

We should point out that the upgrade operations on the aeronautical systems are carried out regularly, with the objective of the safety of the passengers using the air transport.

Of the total of 40 flights scheduled to take off this morning, only 4 flights were delayed up to 60 minutes. We emphasize that the flights that were canceled this morning on the airport site did not cause SITA malfunction.
