Qantas Airways, an Australian airline with the main hub in Sydney - Sydney Airport, has decided to make its first flight with biokerosen. The race will take place between Sydney and Adelaide on April 13, 2012.

Race schedule:
QF 1121 flight will depart from Sydney at 10: 20 and arrive in Adelaide at 12: 05. Return flight QF 1120 will depart from Adelaide at 13: 35 and arrive in Sydney at 16: 00.

The Sydney-Adelaide race will be performed with an Airbus A330 aircraft and biofuel derived from conventional cooking oil and fuel will be used (50: 50 ratios). The biofuel is manufactured by SkyNRG and is fully certified for commercial aviation use.

As oil prices rise, more and more airlines are looking for reliable and cheap fuel solutions. I can say that in the next 10-15 years, the biofuel industry will grow more and more. A study shows that greenhouse gas emissions can also be reduced by up to 17% in aviation. We return with information after the race!
